These pictures will at least put a face with a voice , just wanted you to have an idea what we look like. If you would like a puppy and send in your adoption form, a picture of you would be awesome...always nice to know who you are dealing with!
All of our KIDS, were sought out very carefully and the moms and dads were purchased from some of the best breeders around. We breed for health, quality, and temperament as top priorities..we do not breed by trendy colors but go by shihtzu standards. It is imporant for you to understand the appropriate size of a shihzu. Click here to read the standard. In downsizing this awesome breed, many many health issues are now apparent in what people call tiny, teacup, minature, imperial, and chinese imperial shihtzus. Read here about a downsized shihtzu. A high price tag on a shihtzu that is under 9-10 pounds is taking a huge chance, and most likely will only bring you high vet bills and heartache. Learn and do research before you buy. May we suggest a different breed if you want a tiny dog.
We are NOT a puppy mill or broker. Our babies are raised in our home, under foot, and loved like our children, because we believe that they are a very special breed that deserves very loving homes only. We fell in love with this breed many years ago and now you see where we are at. A shihtzu does not shed, will follow you everywhere and be right on your heels, and will be lonesome when you leave. We try to place these darlings in homes were they have lots of company from children or other pets, or a home where someone is retired and has a ton of time to devote to them. They need groomed every 6 weeks or so, and look darling in a puppy cut. Here the dogs are pretty much cut way down for sanitary reasons. Here at Shershihtzus you will receive respect, honesty, and a unconditional guarantee against life threatening genetic diseases.
When we started breeding, it was evident that there are many breeders not following AKC standards and we wanted to do this correctly and get people the best shihtzu puppy ever. Some of the things that makes us better, is that we do not raise our babies on wire, or tiny rabbit or dog cages. If you go to our welcome page you can see the lovely CONDOS my hubby built. They were built this way for sanitary reasons, so puppy paws were not on those awful wire pens and so our pups and adults have the same privacy and also safety.
We do not push our babies to leave at the tender age of 8 weeks old. Through our years of experience, we have learned that this is a special and a fragile breed as pups. They are tiny when born, and in keeping our babies here until at least 12 weeks of age, it gives babies more time for maturity, more time with their siblings.
We have also found our pups at 12 weeks of age are much more social, not to mention CUTE !!! Their coats are fuller, they have filled out more, and they have their own little personalities! Our pups will also be easier to housebreak. At this age they are simply stronger, healthier, and cuter without a doubt. It is has been one of the best decisions we have made, and our customers are also much happier too !
We do not sell our babies to brokers, pet stores, labs for experimentation, or puppy mills. We do not auction off our pups nor do we sell our pups to anyone without references. We sell our babies to approved loving homes where they will be spoiled and pampered just as they have been here.
We want this to be a happy time in your life, and with no stress. We do everything in our power to make that happen. We have many happy customers that you are welcome to call for references and you can read them by clicking here... we value our reputation highly.
Any question is welcome here, there is NO dumb question and if we don't have the answer, we will get it for you.
If you have any questions on our ethics, or health practices, or anything else, don't hesitate to ask. We only ask that we know who we are speaking to, as we get a ton of anonymous emails, and we prefer to spend our precious time talking to serious prospective buyers, they deserve our undivided attention.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed day !
